Project Managers

USS services over 100 universities and properties across the country and provides a large labor for each project. A successful Project Manager is professional, creative, hard-working, and a team-player. They should be able to manage a fast-paced, (sometimes) stressful operation and be able to clearly communicate with customers and staff. If you think you are up to the task, apply in form below. After you apply, you will get an email to pick your projects, but final staff list will be determined by the project lead. 

Introduction

University and Student Services (USS) is a solutions and logistics company serving over 130 universities and properties within the US.  We are a group focused on meeting individualized needs at each institution and providing unique results to our customers. We aim to provide the highest quality services available in the marketplace.

As a Project Manager, I agree to treat all managers and workers with respect and will always be professional.  I understand that I not only represent USS in an official capacity, but the contracted University as well.  I agree to be patient and courteous.  This not only applies towards fellow USS project managers, but to campus officials, students, and parents.

The following rules apply on-campus and off-campus, hotel, and all aspects of travel for USS.

Inclusivity

Be Considerate and Respectful

I agree to be considerate and respectful to my fellow managers.  All team members depend on each other to produce the best work we can as a manager.  It is critical to be considerate and respectful of everyone who is trying their best to manage their areas and crew.  Welcome new ideas and respect each other’s ideas.  Work together to find solutions to problems.

Drinking

  • No excessive drinking while on a USS project or travel. Please be respectful and conscious that you are representing USS.
  • NO DRINKING AND DRIVING. If you are going out for a drink, Uber at your own expense.  Any drinking and driving will result in immediate termination.
  • Drinking in USS uniform will be limited to two drinks with a meal after work
  • No underage drinking will be tolerated, it will result in immediate termination

Hotel Room Policy

  • Please remember you are representing USS in the hotel. We have worked very hard to build relationships with hotels and they have given us deals and accommodate our requests.
  • If you drink too much and vomit or damage anything in your room or hotel, you will be responsible for all cleanup/damages fees associated with it. This will be taken from USS project manager check; your check will be held until all fees are charged by hotel.

 Time Policy

  • Please be on time for any meeting time designated by the project lead. For instance, if your call time is 6:00am, please be sure you are fully ready to go no later than 10 minutes prior.

Flight Policy

  • Missed Flights to a project- You will no longer be allowed to work any USS projects if you miss your flight going to a project.
  • Missed Flights going home- it will be your responsibility to rebook your own flight. USS will not assist in any way with this process.

Walk Throughs

  • All project managers are required to attend all scheduled walk throughs on campus before the project (unless prior arrangements are made with the project lead).

Dress Code

  • Walk through- USS PM T-Shirt/polo, Khaki/golf shorts, leggings or yoga pants, and tennis shoes (no basketball shorts/ cut off shorts)
  • Project Day-USS PM T-Shirt (Services) USS PM Polo (Move in) Khaki/golf shorts, yoga pants/leggings, and tennis shoes. (no basketball shorts/ cut off shorts)

Job Specific Project Manager Responsibilities

  • All PMs are responsible for keeping track of radios, hand out and collect all of them at the end of each day.
  • All PMs must take equipment counts to begin and end each day Any missing equipment must be accounted for.
  • All PMs are responsible for lost bins/items in their assigned hall/building
  • All PMs are responsible for maintaining and supervising their assigned job and labor
  • All PMs are responsible for securing and controlling all keys assigned to them. Loss of these will leave you liable for all replacement charges. (Key cards, Building, vehicle, equipment etc.)
